In support of the college’s mission, the Dale Mabry department of Student Services supports the philosophy that emphasizes the development of the whole student including socially, emotionally, intellectually, physically and spiritually. Importance is placed on meeting the needs of students on an individual basis along with providing for the general welfare of all HCC students. The DM Student Services department is pleased to offer a variety of programs and services to foster student success for those who choose to live at Hawks Landing. Hawks Landing proximity to the Dale Mabry campus makes it imperative that we deliver support services from the various units in Student Services that meet the needs of our resident population.
Studies show that students who live on campus tend to have higher graduation rates, achieve greater academic success, are more involved in Campus life and tend to utilize campus resources more often than those not living near campus. Hawks Landing will provide students with greater opportunities to become involved with HCC and hopefully will provide an enhanced learning experience. The close proximity to campus will allow the Student Services department to take an active role in providing access to programs and services that will contribute to both the collegiate and living experience of the residents.
You already know that Hawks Landing is the best place to live, but do your friends? What better way to ensure the perfect roommates than to choose them yourself by referring them to Hawks Landing. When choosing your apartment you can specify them as roommates, or if you have too many for one apartment, you can choose them to be neighbors! Don't keep it a secret; tell all of your friends that Hawks Landing has it all!
For today's college student, Internet access has become more of a necessity than just a luxury. To meet the needs of our residents, Hawks Landing offers PlaceNet service. PlaceNet is our dedicated and managed high-speed Internet service available in every bedroom. Browse the web at lightning speeds and easily access online classes by the click of a button. With PlaceNet service, you can avoid wasting time with busy signals and slow connection speeds with dial-up service.
As a completely independent system, PlaceNet does not require any additional services from the telephone and cable companies. Most companies actually require basic service even before high-speed Internet is an option and then require a contract! PlaceNet does not require any hardware rental, deposit, or contract.
PlaceNet is also extremely easy to use. The only equipment needed is a computer with an Ethernet card (most recent PC's already have one).
